PROFILE
Born in Kyoto, Japan in1988.
Graduated from Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts, the Faculty of Arts and Crafts with a major in painting in 2019.
Completion of Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School Seminar Program,Department of Fine Arts Education in 2021.
【Statement】
How to express existence was a major concern in Western art.
In the East, everything is fluid and interactive and matter and spirit are indivisible.
That’s called “Ki”.
I mainly use motifs of real and non-real creatures.
The subject of my expression is to approach the “Ki” of these creatures, their interaction with the outside world, and the flow of matter and spirit.
“Ki” is closely related to the idea of explaining the components of the world in terms of yin and yang.
I incorporate opposing concepts such as yin and yang, East and West, past and present, figurative and abstract, existence and non-existence in my work.
In expressing these things, I focus on brush strokes as a means of liberating my senses, and I use a technique of layering them in layers.
I refer to the oriental painting tradition of capturing the rhyme and movement of the subject with the brush strokes.
I also follow the context of Western painting in terms of materials and techniques, and present my work with the intention of presenting it as a new expression of our time, while inheriting its history and culture.
